Star-crossed lovers, now buried in sand
Once ripped from each other, when the water washed over land
They fought for each other, through the current and tow
To find one another, in the darkness below

She wore a bracelet, made from mother of pearl
And he held desire, for a beautiful girl
Their eyes met at distance, the moon hung in the stars
As they reached for each other, a voice cried from afar

The wind and the water was of monstrous size
It swept them apart, as he looked in her eyes
Now forlorn in the darkness, his only thought was of her
His hand clenched his heart, not to be deterred

So he swam into darkness, and was losing his breath
Ignored all the senses, of his oncoming death
And as his lungs filled with water and he thought of the girl
His hand felt an object made from mother of pearl

And he pulled it in closer, felt that her body was warm
She embraced his desire, as he died in her arms
And it sounds so romantic, do you think that he got his wish?
Well the real truth of the matter, what he thought was a girl, was actually a fish.
